Terry Graham volunteering at the 2009 Tour de California bike race. Terry Graham's Biography Terry Graham has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, public relations and sales. She has worked with various professionals, with an emphasis on attorneys practicing in multi-national firms, small-to-medium sized regional and local firms, and sole practitioners. Ms. Graham specializes in producing and implementing firmwide strategic marketing plans, departmental/practice area plans and individual marketing plans for partners (shareholders) and associates. She also provides public relations and media services designed to effectively promote the firm's practice to select audiences. She trains to professionals in client development skills as required. In 1991, she founded the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the National Law Firm Marketing Association, now known as the Legal Marketing Association (LMA). She served as 1992 President of NALFMA/Bay Area and on its Board of Directors in 1993. A nationally published author and long-time columnist on the topic of legal services marketing, she also offers workshops on a wide range of related topics and has been the featured speaker at various professional association events. In 1994, she served on the Editorial Board of Legal Marketing Exchange, a national publication. She was the first non-lawyer appointed advisor to the Law Practice Management Section of the State Bar of California from 1994 to 1995, and taught continuing education classes in the ethics of marketing communication throughout the state. She has published more than 200 articles on legal marketing in numerous publications. In 1999, Ms. Graham left the Bay Area and spent time living and working in the beautiful, interesting communities of Ashland, Oregon; Sedona, Arizona; Boulder, Colorado; and Couer d'Alene, Idaho. She returned to Marin County in 2007 to enjoy the Pacific Ocean, wonderful weather, interesting people and year-round biking. In 2009, she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition, focusing on membership outreach. An outdoor enthusiast interested in preserving America's history and heritage, she has provided public relations support since 2007 to the Presidio Historical Association and other groups involved in the fight to keep a contemporary art museum sponsored by Gap founder Donald Fisher off of the Presidio of San Francisco's historic Main Post, which dates back to 1776, when Spanish explorers established a military outpost there. After two years, Fisher withdrew his proposal in June 2009. Earlier, she created bike tours of Angel Island, where Spanish explorers docked and charted the San Francisco Bay in 1775. Before starting her consulting practice in 1984, Ms. Graham worked for IBM, completing the company's extensive sales, business management and technical training program. While with IBM, she consulted with and trained executives and support staff on computerizing corporate accounting and marketing functions. The classes she developed were used throughout the Midwest. Ms. Graham received her Master of Arts degree in mass communications from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis) graduating in the top 10% of her class while working nearly full time. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with distinction (cum laude) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Spanish with a minor in journalism. She spent her junior year studying at the Universidad de Madrid, returning to Spain after graduation to work in Palma de Mallorca. Prior to earning her graduate degree, she worked for a year in Heidelberg, Germany.
